Thank you for inquiring about the opportunity to become a Ground Maintenance Mechanic.
Job Summary: Performs as a semi-skilled mechanic in maintenance of Ground Support Equipment (GSE) as described below. Utilizes appropriate tooling, equipment and material to accomplish maintenance functions including but not limited to the following: inspections, minor troubleshooting, repairing, removing and replacing components on all Ground Support functions. May also assist a Ground Maintenance Technician Lead or a Ground Maintenance Technician on equipment. Must be willing to work rotating or fixed shifts, rotating or fixed days off, accept indoor and outdoor work assignments and be subject to overtime and travel. Must practice safety conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.
Job Qualifications: Must be able to read and write English at a minimum of a high school graduate level and be able to comprehend and apply information contained in technical manuals. Required to have a minimum of six months of acceptable and verifiable automotive or industrial powered mechanical experience and/or appropriate training in automotive or industrial powered maintenance environment. Must possess the basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic disciplines as they apply to automotive and/or industrial powered systems. Welding experience preferred but not required. Must achieve a satisfactory score on entry tests structured to determine ability to perform required tasks. Must be performing satisfactorily in present position. Must meet the physical requirements which qualify a person to perform essential job functions including the ability to lift at least 70 pounds. Must have own tools and meet a minimum tooling list. Must be performing satisfactorily in present position. |
